Working and living in Germany


Make it in Germany: On the federal government's portal for professionals from abroad, you can find multilingual information about entry and visa procedures, job searches and everyday life in Germany. There is also an easily accessible hotline in German and English.

Bundesagentur für Arbeit: On the section "For people from abroad", there is brief overview information and contacts on many topics, for example on: jobs and internships, recognition of qualifications, admission to the labour market, etc.

Kreisverwaltungsreferat (District administration department) - City of Munich: Here you can find detailed information about residence and work permits. There are specific information areas for international professionals (Service Center) as well as students from abroad.

Recognition


Servicestelle zur Erschließung ausländischer Qualifikationen: Here you can get advice and support with the recognition of foreign school, professional or university degrees and help with the application.

• Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Munich and Upper Bavaria:
Here you can find information and advice on the recognition and evaluation of training and further education degrees from abroad, in the areas of industry, trade, catering and services.

Anerkennung in Deutschland: This multilingual website is the federal government’s central information portal for the recognition of foreign professional and vocational qualifications in Germany. Here, too, there is an easily accessible hotline in German and English.

Chamber of Crafts (HWK) for Munich and Upper Bavaria: Here you can get advice on the evaluation of foreign vocational qualifications for a craft occupation. There are flyers in different languages on the site.

Learning German


IBZ Sprache und Beruf: Here you will find advice and information on qualifications and employment, including information on German courses and their financing.

Münchner Volkshochschule: You can find an extensive range of German courses, differentiated according to previous knowledge, learning pace and learning goals. A free consultation is also offered.

VHS-Lernportal: is the free digital learning offer of the German Adult Education Association (DVV). The German courses are aimed at adults who want to learn German as a second language at levels A1, A2, B1 or B2.

Deutsche Welle: You can find here an extensive digital range of German courses at all levels for PC, smartphone and tablet. DW is an international, independent media company in Germany.

Pedagogical Institute: The Center for Municipal Education Management also offers advice on the subjects of further training and the development of professional prospects.
 
Kursnet (Federal Employment Agency): At this portal for vocational education and training, the quick search gives you an overview of all offers in Munich.
 
ReDI Munich: The non-profit programming school supports IT-savvy internationals in entering the technology scene. They also offer further IT training.
 
Ibpro Profession and Family: Especially single parents and job seekers with families can find qualification offers and support in the application process here.
